Most Innovative Business Award

Aimed at any organisation that can show how creativity and innovation has made an impact on their business, workforce, customers, suppliers, communities or society over the past 12 months. Innovation involves doing things differently or imaginatively to achieve a dramatic result.

Best Small Business Award

This award is intended to reward the achievement of small businesses (with less than 10 employees) operating within the Borough.  This category considers each business on its own merit identifying elements such as: customer service, management, and innovation.

Most Promising New Business Award

Targeted at businesses that have been trading for 2 years or less and have achieved significant growth and success.

Enterprising Retailer of the year

During a time of economic recession retailers have been particularly hard hit. This award highlights how innovative retailers have challenged themselves to ensure that their business remains at the forefront of new and exciting ideas to keep it interesting to new and old customers. Nominees will be judged on diversification, innovative new practices and excellent customer service.

Green Business Award

Recognising good practice in an environmental capacity for businesses and social enterprises in the area.

The Social Enterprise Excellence Award

To celebrate organizations who make a significant contribution to their community, whilst acting in a professional and entrepreneurial fashion.

Tourism Business of the Year

Aimed at relevant businesses working within the tourism sector that seek innovative ways of enhancing the overall experience of visitors to Merthyr Tydfil, whilst also using a number of mechanisms to attract potential tourists to the area.

Creative Industry Award

Designed to recognise and celebrate the creativity, determination to succeed and cultural achievements of an individual or business that utilises an aspect of the creative sector to demonstrate commercial success.

Excellence in Marketing Award

To recognise businesses’ innovative approaches in marketing activities and the return on investment that such activities have achieved.
